do not attempt to charge your phone after you got it wet. Trying to charge it will slightly reduce the chances of recovery. Each case varies in results though, as it depends which of the phones circuit chips are damaged
Wet phone:
Charging a phone that has liquid damage can cause permanent problems, making it impossible to repair or recover data from. Even if you dried the phone out first, it still has liquid damage so for best results, do not even attempt to charge it. However if you did try to charge it and nothing happens, not to worry too much. Although charging the phone is very dangerous for the phones circuit board, often times after phones get wet, oxidation builds up over the charger port and prevents the electricity from being distributed within the entire circuit. If this happens, the phone will appear dead and will not even charge. That is a good thing though, because our liquid damage repair procedure would fix that- once the oxidation is removed, it would work again.
However its also possible if the short out is higher up in the circuit, then electricity may be delivered to a critical circuit, causing an overpowerage, which can permanently damage the circuit board. So for best results, after the phone gets wet and dries out, send it in for service.

Wet battery:
As far as the battery goes- liquid usually doesn't cause permanent damage to the battery, even if it was completely submerged. A battery can be submerged in liquid for over 10 minutes, and still have no permanent damage. It may discharge, but once charged back up, usually it will hold a charge for just as long as it did before.
